Personally, I don't see a scenario where I would go through so much ammo before finally being overtaken by the people trying to overtake me. I am a gun owner and not a hater of you or anyone who owns tons of ammo - I just don't understand it. The only thing I can see a use is for bartering. Help me understand the scenario when you'll use 500,000 rounds - or even 10,000 rounds. Honest and important question here (not hating). The point of this post is to understand the mindset and reasoning of others who buy and stash all the ammo they can afford for a SHTF scenario. And don't panic, I'm not anti-gun or anti-2nd Amendment!Įdit: The person I mentioned in this post is a professional who trains and shoots extensively and, therefore, isn't just hoarding ammo for a SHTF situation. Below was my response to him about his 500,000 rounds, but I'm very curious about how the rest of you feel. Recently somebody commented in another post about how he owned 500,000 rounds of ammo. I've been a longtime follower of this subreddit, and have always been curious about those of you who often talk about buying as much ammo possible.
